After romping to the Cheshire Cricket League Division A title in 2018, Hale Barns Second XI established themselves as promotion candidates with a fourth-place finish in their first season in the Cheshire County Cricket League Division 2.

In 2020, Tom Entwistle’s side cruised to top spot in the CCCL Division 2 West, completing the shortened season eight points clear of the nearest challengers, although they ended as regional runners-up after suffering defeat to Didsbury in the East/West final.

Sanjeev Bhatia starred with the bat, scoring 173 at an average of 43, while opening bowler Jack Wylie claimed 13 wickets at just under 12 apiece.
