Hale Barns Cricket Club has a thriving junior section of over 60 boys and girls. A primary belief of the club is that junior cricket should be both sociable and fun, and every junior should have the opportunity to play in matches.
There are teams playing in the South Manchester Junior League at Under 9, 10, 11, 13 and 15 age groups. Once players reach the age of 16 they are encouraged to progress into the 3rd XI senior team and upwards, where the length of game is more suitable for their talents.
The flow of homegrown players gaining early experience of senior cricket, and in many cases thriving, is constant and HBCC have juniors in the 1st, 2nd and 3rd XI, who often deliver match-defining performances.
All coaching is designed and supervised by ECB qualified coaches.
Hale Barns CC’s junior section is open to all boys and girls and no experience of playing the game is necessary. If you would like more information about joining Hale Barns CC, please see the Membership page on this website or contact us online.
During the summer, training for U9s and U11s takes place every Friday from 6pm to 8pm, while U13s and U15s practice every Thursday from 5pm to 7pm.
In addition, HBCC also hosts All Stars (four to eight-year-olds) and Dynamos (eight to 11-years-old) cricket, starting Friday 16th July. Both courses are eight-week introductory cricket sessions for children and are booked via the ECB – https://www.ecb.co.uk/play/junior.
This year, the club is also taking part in Cheshire Cricket Board’s ‘Get The Game On’ initiative, which will allow us to play more friendly match fixtures later on in the summer, when the junior leagues have concluded.
