Jake and Clive set record breaking partnership

Following on from last year’s incredible double-century opening partnership between Marcus Dean and Glen Wilson for the 2nds, first teamers Jake Warner and Clive Collins rewrote the record books for the 2nd week in last week’s league fixture at Prestbury. The innings got off to an inauspicious start when Will Mundy was out to the first ball of the match, however Jake and Clive took advantage of gorgeous sunshine to take the score to 286. Clive was eventually dismissed for 108, whilst Jake finished unbeaten on 156 as the innings declared on 294-3 of 43 overs.

Unfortunately the 1sts couldn’t quite go on to complete victory, reducing Prestbury to 173-9, with Jake himself almost securing the final wicket that would have brought 25 points. As it was, Jake owned up to not catching a ball cleanly that both umpires and batmen assumed he had – an honest as well as talented cricketer!
