HBCC Management Committee Update: February 2021

With a new season ahead of us, the club is moving up the gears as we prepare to replicate the successes of 2020 on the cricket pitch.

It is obviously still a challenging time for everyone as the covid-19 pandemic continues to dominate lives and headlines, but we’re very hopeful that by the time the new season comes around, things may be looking more positive.

As part of our preparations for the new season we have some new appointments and vacancies on our management committee that we’re looking to fill – if you or someone you know fancies getting involved in helping drive the success of the club into the future, then please let us know:

Junior Coordinator

After many years of hard work and dedication to this role Sophie Staniforth has decided to step away from the Junior Coordinator role but will continue to support the management committee in other ways.

We are pleased to welcome Kate Betson into the committee, who has agreed to take over the role. Her son, Harrison, has featured for the club’s Under-9s team, and will move on to the Under-11s this year.

Kate, alongside Junior Committee Chairman James Glazebrook, will start to liaise with parents, team managers and coaches on getting ready to start the cricket season in whatever form it will take this year over the coming weeks.

Positions available:

Chairman

Matt Tasker is stepping down in April after nearly two years in position to focus on the arrival of his first child this spring. As Chairman, you will be responsible for steering the management committee and future direction of the club.

Secretary

John Pope has been Acting Secretary, alongside his Treasurer role, for several months now. As Secretary, you will be responsible for ensuring the governance of the club is maintained, from recording the management committee decisions and actions through to assuring our compliance with any league rules and paperwork required.

Sponsorship:

HBCC is also looking for new sponsors to help secure the financial security of the club into the future. Sponsorship opportunities available include:

Main club sponsor – A fantastic opportunity to support a local volunteer led cricket club, with a highly active senior and junior membership. Various commercial options are available, so please contact the club if you are interested via matt.tasker87@gmail.com.

Boundary sponsorship boards – Get your company name around the Barns Arena with an advertising board for £250.

Match sponsorship – All of our first and second team home games are available for individual match sponsors for the price of £50. Our kind match sponsors help the club cover some of the costs of putting on a game each week.

If any of the above items interest you or you’d like to help coordinate these opportunities, then please get in touch with John Pope (johnpope235@hotmail.com) or Matt Tasker (matt.tasker87@gmail.com).
